Assistant Teaching Professor, Psychology Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: The Department of Psychology in the College of the Pacific at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a three-year Assistant Teaching Professor position (renewable, non-tenure track) beginning August 2024 or January 2025. Area of expertise within psychology is open.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Teaching a 3/3 course load on the semester system, including the following courses: Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Research Methods, Advanced Research Methods, and introductory and advanced courses within the applicant's area of expertise.
- Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and experience working with diverse populations. Qualified ABDs will be considered.
- The Department of Psychology consists of 7 full-time faculty who provide coursework in theoretical and research foundations of psychology, with intensive student involvement in research and applied experiences. Psychology is one of the largest majors in the University, with more than 200 undergraduate majors. For more information about the department, visit: .

Minimum Qualifications: - Masters degree in Psychology or related field.
Preferred Qualifications: - Ph.D. in Psychology or related field.
- Experience teaching in higher education.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
