Job description

Job Summary: Training Coordinator is responsible for overseeing training programs and activities for our facility. This position will work closely with HR, Operations, and other departments to effectively establish training requirements for the various work groups. Leads efforts to assess learning and organizational development needs and develops strategies to increase organizational, team, and individual effectiveness.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree in organizational development, business administration, human resources, and/or equivalent work experince
• Prior experience with Continuous Performance Improvement and Lean Manufacturing training/techniques.
• Knowledge and experience in instructional design and distance learning helpful
• Independently motivated with proven ability to follow through on initiatives
• Highly engaging and collaborative style in working cross-functionally
• Strong internal consulting skills, facilitation skills, and communication skills with employees at all levels.
• Project management experience helpful
• Ability to handle confidentiality in a professional and appropriate manner.
• Some local as well as out of state travel will be required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assesses and prioritizes learning and organizational development needs and modifies or develops learning and organizational development programs to achieve desired results.
• Collaborates and consults with managers to develop and facilitate learning and development initiatives for employees
• Reviews and evaluates training and apprenticeship programs for compliance
• Leads the design and delivery of organizational development activities, including LEAN, and Continuous Improvement to ensure transfer of learning and performance improvement.
• Designs and delivers engaging training sessions using various instructional strategies
• Establishes relationships with academic facilities/local colleges and other appropriate agencies to develop training programs for Martinrea employees
• Contracts with and manages external vendors to provide training services.
• Advises associates of available training opportunities and scheduled training sessions.
• Ensure compliance with training re-certification requirements
• Develop, record and retain records of training performed
• Identifies and tracks key metrics and develops evaluation processes to ensure overall learning and organizational development program effectiveness. (ROI)
• Keeps up-to-date on training and development trends and best practices.
• May lead and manage learning and organizational development staff to accomplish individual objectives and support Company initiatives which may include:
o On-boarding Training
o Goal Setting
o Performance Standards
o Performance Measurement
o Coaching and Mentoring
o Interviewing
o OJT
• Ensures compliance with policies, safety procedures, and fair employment practices.
• Handles confidential information with discretion.
• Manages special projects
