Job Description Summary:
This is a full-time Art faculty position. The primary teaching location will be at the Pecan Campus in McAllen, TX, with a course load per semester of 15 Lecture Hour Equivalents. The majority of the assignment will be in teaching Graphic Design and Digital Photography courses and Art Appreciation.
South Texas College is a comprehensive institution, which places primary emphasis on excellence in classroom instruction. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate and maintain competence in each of the following areas throughout their employment at the College.

Preferred Qualification:
  1. Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication, Master of Arts degree in Visual Communication, Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis in Visual Communication, Master of Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Visual Communication, Master of Fine Arts degree in Communication Design, Master of Arts degree in Communication Design, Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Communication Design, Master of Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Communication Design, Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, Master of Arts degree in Graphic Design, Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design, Master of Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design, Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography, a Master of Arts degree in Photography, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography, or a Master of Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography
  2. The preferred candidate will also have demonstrated proficiency with digital media tools, specifically Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Light room, as demonstrated through a portfolio submission and teaching demonstration.
