Position Summary/Description:

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Foundation Relations Development Officer will require grant writing and grant management duties. This position will draft and submit grant applications for access and student success programs, meeting tight deadlines and allowing sufficient time for internal reviews. Duties include ensuring ongoing relationships with grant-making organizations and identifying new foundation opportunities and relationships. The position will be charged with identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding foundations to support and grow the University's campus-wide initiatives related to college access, scholarships and student aid, and student success, including the Carolina College Advising Corps, the Carolina Student Transfer Excellence Program (C- STEP ), and the Kessler Scholars Program. This includes event planning and strategic outreach. The position will perform other tasks for university leadership and other campus development officers to help them identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward funds for the programs. Finally, duties include developing promotional materials, presentations, and annual reports that effectively communicate the University's mission, the impact of donor support, and the results of the college access and student success programs.

Education and Experience:

Demonstrated success in external fundraising and a working knowledge of the higher education development process.
