Job description
Responsibilities:
The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs and interprets laboratory tests in the Clinical Laboratory for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical technology, and successful completion of a Technician (MLT) level, state recognized exam, or be eligible. Must receive certification within 18 months of hire if hired as eligible OR B) Successful completion of a formal twelve (12) month technician training program, and successful completion of a Technician (MLT) level, state recognized exam, or be eligible. Must receive certification within 18 months of hire if hired as eligible.
Attention to detail, good physical dexterity, and good written and oral communication skills.
Ability to understand and use medical and scientific terminology.
Completion of at least two (2) years of academic study in science, plus passing the technician (MLT) state recognized certification exam.
Two (2) years experience in a clinical laboratory performing technical duties.
