What you’ll do:

Being a Fortune 100 company and the leading off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S. and worldwide, the TJX Companies Inc. relies on our Loss Prevention teams to protect our Company assets to fuel our growing multi-billion-dollar businesses. Our Loss Prevention Department collaborates and provides support to all aspects of our business. While each chain maintains an individual brand, we have implemented a One TJX approach in our U.S. Divisions to positively impact and reduce shrink.

As a Loss Prevention Intern, you will learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic organization. You will have the opportunity to take a broad approach to leading, allowing you to make substantial impact on our store operations – and our bottom line. During this internship, you will learn about retail operations from the inside out and get a thorough understanding of why Loss Prevention is critical to every area of our business. Loss Prevention is about safety, leading teams to resolve theft and fraud, managing change, and using critical thinking to maximize our profits.

Through this internship, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Gain an introduction to retail Loss Prevention
• Learn how Loss Prevention maximizes innovative technology to protect Associates and assets
• Participate in the management of critical projects
• Learn from and collaborate with Loss Prevention leaders
• Learn how retail operations and distribution centers operate
• Collaborate with other interns on a team project and deliver a final presentation to the executive leadership team members
  
   

Join our Loss Prevention teams and receive robust training and leadership development through classroom learning, on-the-job training, and ongoing mentorship from your leadership team. Depending on your interests, expertise, and our business needs, you will be placed in one of our below functions:

/ Corporate Home Office Loss Prevention Intern

• Focus on learning the corporate structure of Loss Prevention and the teams that provide support to the entire organization.
• Integral in collaborating and driving projects related to safety, physical security, investigations, communication protocols, and various systems used to support the business.

/ Field Loss Prevention Intern

• Working within one of our retail stores in our nationwide districts.
• Responsible for protecting the stores’ merchandise and assets from internal and external theft.

/ Supply Chain Loss Prevention Intern

• Focus on learning our corporate structure of Loss Prevention and how the various teams support our supply chain network and Associates within our buildings.
• Gain an understanding of the importance of networking and play an active part in projects involving various systems of life safety, electronic video surveillance, and access control.

/ Loss Prevention Training and Project Management Intern

• Learn how Loss Prevention Training supports The TJX Companies, Inc. across all U.S. divisions in content creation, instructional design, development of policies and procedures, eLearning courses, micro-learnings, and more.
• Participate in the delivery of technical training to Loss Prevention Associates in various positions across the organization, with an emphasis on onboarding and continued professional development.

Ideal candidates will be strong, curious leaders with a keen eye for team leadership and process optimization. At TJX, you will grow your leadership skills and off-price retail knowledge to put them to use as part of a collaborative team working towards implementing, delivering, and achieving business goals and objectives. We are looking for natural leaders who never stop looking for efficiencies, improvements, and new ways to motivate a team.

Key Qualifications:  

• Rising Juniors and Seniors currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program
• Business Management, Business Intelligence, Communications, Criminal Justice or related major (other majors may be considered)
• Genuine interest in a long-term Loss Prevention career at TJX
• Ability to relocate and work a flexible work schedule depending on business needs

Additional qualifications include:  

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Office Suite)
• Strong analytical thinking and sophisticated problem-solving skills
• Excellent communicators who work well in teams
• Confidence and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
• An entrepreneurial drive, work ethic, and business acumen
• Ability to have direct, candid, and productive conversations around performance

With our Loss Prevention internship being located in Framingham, MA, reliable transportation is required as TJX is not easily accessible to public transportation. A variable work schedule is part of the role and based on the needs of the business.
