Job description
Network Engineer - VMware (Hybrid - Harrisburg, PA)
We are currently looking for a Network Engineer for our client, a Commonwealth of PA entity. This resource must be able to assist the network and security team with network, security, server maintenance, and support for local area networks, metropolitan area networks, and private cloud environments.
This is a 40-hour/week, 6-month project, Hybrid in Harrisburg, PA. Telework is possible at the agency's discretion, but the selected candidate will be expected to report on-site at least two days per week. Must be a PA resident to be considered.
This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.
Responsibilities:
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers.
Ensure the current patch level is maintained on servers.
Assists in investigation and mitigation of security incidents.
Configure, maintain and troubleshoot physical (Cisco) and distributed virtual switches (VMware).
Configure, maintain and troubleshoot routers (Cradlepoint).
Monitors the team's open backlog of support issues.
Work towards departmental and project deadlines.
Document and present recommendations for issue/risk remediation to team leads and managers.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience with VMware vSphere
3+ years of experience with Server Administration (windows / VMware)
2+ years of experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, and Cisco Networking is highly desired.
1+ year of experience with Nessus by Tenable, Linux Administration, and Firewall Administration is desired.
