We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Account Manager to join our Commercial Lines team in our Rockville, MD office.
The selected individual will be responsible for assisting the Commercial Lines Department by providing administrative support, coordinating marketing efforts and assisting with special projects in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the Company.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist Account Managers and Producers in gathering the necessary information regarding new/existing accounts and submitting this information to the various carriers to obtain proposals.
Review the proposals received from the various carriers, create spreadsheets, make recommendations to the Producer, and then place these in a formal accurate proposal presentation.
Assist the Producer with coordinating workflow between the internal staff, clients and insurance carriers.
Process changes in coverage as requested and needed by customer.
Process quotations and binders from carriers.
Direct a smooth transition from one carrier to another carrier.
Perform periodic service calls on all accounts and complete reporting as needed.
Update all account information in the agency management system as needed.
Responsible for developing complete familiarity with all forms and paperwork including their intent and purpose.
Maintain awareness of the various carriers and new Federal/State laws that may affect how our clients must administer their benefit programs. Communicate this information to team members for discussion.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship and rapport with each insurance carrier to satisfy our clients' needs and facilitate the processing of business.
Maintain knowledge of online enrollment systems and processes.
Attend client/carrier functions as requested.
Attend and complete any training sessions or assignments as required.
Present a professional image as a representative of the company.
Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with co-workers, and every level of management.
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
One year experience in commercial insurance service preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to pay attention to detail
Ability to solve problems of a difficult procedural, organizational, administrative or technical nature.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
