Job description
Paramedic Intercept
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as a clinical leader responsible for overseeing and expediting ALS discharges out of designated Key Account locations
- Function as a Paramedic following all company policies and state regulations
- Provide clinical guidance to ambulance crews in the field, support them with ALS assists, and proactive Quality Assurance
- Review, triage, and expedite ALS discharges out of designated facilities to efficiently match patient acuity and clinical needs with available resources
- Review and assist with any clinical or operational questions and concerns from transporting crews
- Help in assuring that all field staff members are adhering to the company policy & procedure guidelines
- Work cooperatively with the billing department and compliance coordinator to obtain and resolve any improperly documented ALS ePCR’s
- Establish working relationships with staff members at designated facilities
- Work as a liaison between the field management team and all field employees to enhance direct communication efforts
- Actively review and report needs of ALS/BLS crews in the field
- Obtain and deliver any equipment or supplies for field crews as necessary
- Assist local management team with gathering Med Nec’s, signature forms, ops holds and any other critical billing documents
- Assist local management team with contacting field staff to sync their transports and assist with expediting movement to and from patient transport requests
- Assist local management team with contacting field staff to fill openings in the schedule
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of High School Education
- Currently Licensed Paramedic
- CPR and ACLS Certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in EMS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to read, speak, and write English
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with CAD, scheduling, etc. is preferred.
- Ability to push and pull up to 300 lbs.
- Ability to assist, lift, and transfer patients onto and from stretchers.
- Must be able to work in weather conditions of geographical region.
