Full Job Description

This is a fulltime onsite role for a Chief Estimator (Civil). The Chief Estimator will be responsible for leading and driving the estimating pipeline preparing bid packages determining material labor and equipment costs analyzing subcontractor bids and reviewing plans and specifications for various projects. The position requires strong conceptual problemsolving and leadership skills. Additional duties related to project management may be required.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• High school Diploma
• Construction estimating: 5 years (Required)
• Experience in civil estimating and site development in the Northern Virginia market
• Experience reading and analyzing civil plans specifications and geotech reports; understanding the different soil and rock types found in the different areas of Northern Virginia
• Experience preparing estimates and participation in project negotiations and contract awards.
• Experience performing takeoffs and cost analysis for full civil site packages; creating scope sheets and reaching out to vendors and subcontractors for pricing.
• Experience in determining production rates and understanding and calculating risk associated with selfperform earthwork and underground utilities
• Experience using InSite Heavybid OnScreen Takeoff Bluebeam Excel.
• Knowledge of construction materials methods and equipment
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
• Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills
