Job description

My Client is seeking a full-line sales and service organization specializing in liquid handling applications, (pumps, filtration, process equipment) operating in the states of Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

The company is an employee-owned company headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Job Summary

Application Engineers are the primary technical resource to both external sources (consulting engineers, contractors, and end users) and internal sources (regional managers, project management/ engineering, manufacturing, and after-sales service). The Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong working relationships throughout the sales cycle.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for preparation of bids and proposals.
• Provide and review technical specifications for use in municipal or industrial bid documents.
• Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs by preparing product quotations from published price lists and product data sheets, or manufacturer's software programs.
• Interact with manufacturer's reps, territory managers, consultants, contractors, and end users on a daily basis through verbal and written communication.
• Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
• Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects.
• Maintain application and product knowledge through training and seminars.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities,

· BA/BS in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent successful experience in a similar industry role.

• Experience working in the field of water and/or wastewater treatment industry; preferably 3+ years
• Demonstrate proficient problem-solving techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications in the development of project cost estimates, and proposals.
• Superior customer service, strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
• Possess ability to complete tasks and resolve difficult technical issues with minimum oversight.
• Ability to prioritize, focus, and complete most critical tasks while handling multiple assignments with shifting priorities.
• Ability to network effectively within an organization to get things done.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Be a self-starter with high motivation to achieve corporate and personal goals.

Future Growth

The growth path for an Application Engineer can typically lead to an outside sales position or an inside role as Project Manager within 2-3 years.
