Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Sacramento, CA
Duration: 15 Months Contract
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team for a 15-month contract in Sacramento, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks related to Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions for the federal client. Additionally, the candidate may be assigned to other solutions/products during the contract period.
Responsibilities:
1. **Analysis and Requirements Gathering:**
- Conduct problem and impact assessment, gap analysis, data analysis, and process mapping.
- Facilitate joint application design (JAD) and collaborative design sessions.
- Resolve system-related issues using analytical and technical skills.
- Identify and clarify requirements using modeling tools and techniques.
- Discuss proposed solutions with customers in a proactive/consultative manner.
2. **Evaluation of BI/DW Solutions:**
- Research and assess viability, requirements, and use case fit of BI/DW solutions.
- Analyze the impact of integration between existing systems and BI/DW solutions.
- Develop evaluation criteria and procurement documentation for selected products.
- Analyze current architecture, infrastructure, security, and policy impacts or limitations.
3. **Project Support and Quality Assurance:**
- Provide coaching and training to maximize the effectiveness of requirements phase.
- Recommend refined solutions for requirements management methodology.
- Provide peer reviews of requirements deliverables.
- Mentor less experienced business analysts to support consistency and advancement of team skills.
** Deliverables : **
- New or updated use cases, business requirements, and business rules.
- Functional and non-functional requirements/specifications.
- Stakeholder requirements and transition plans.
- High-level test approach plan and traceability matrices.
- Business Analysis Plan, process maps, and system/data diagrams.
- Data models and Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
- Status or progress reports, evaluation reports, and presentations.
- Procurement documentation, statements of work, and requirement development process documentation.
- Periodic detailed status reports on project progress and presentations to the Business Analysis team regarding techniques and practices.
** Qualifications :**
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in requirements elicitation and documentation.
- Experience with BI/DW solutions evaluation and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) are a plus.
