Murdoch Developmental Center (MDC) is currently recruiting Registered Nurses for multiple positions on 1st shift. The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional nursing care. This RN provides evaluation, assessment, and assures coordination and implementation of care delivery. This RN acts as charge nurse when assigned, provides clinical services and consultation including medication and treatment administration, MD/Professional contacts, & care planning for health needs.


Scheduled work hours: 1st shift , 6:30am - 3:00pm, 5 days/week, with rotating weekends.


Schedule adjustments as needed/requested.

About Murdoch Developmental Center:

MDC is one of three regional developmental centers operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). MDC in Butner serves 25 counties in central NC. Murdoch has approximately 1600 employees providing residential services and supports to people with IDD, complex behavioral challenges and/or medical conditions whose clinical treatment needs exceed the level of care available in the community. In addition to regional admissions for adults, MDC operates four statewide programs, which include support for children and adolescents with complex needs. **Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus**

Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:

A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);

(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;

(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.

There are no paid leave, retirement or other benefits associated with these appointment types.
