Wire EDM Field Service Technician

Job description
Position Overview:
The Wire EDM Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site service and technical support to our customers for their Wire EDM machines. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, programming, inspecting and maintaining the machines.
This is a 100% travel position, Monday through Friday. Travel is primarily throughout the US, but can be international in some cases as well
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site technical service and support of Wire EDM machines, including installation, troubleshooting, testing, and repair.
- Interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Utilize electrical and mechanical measuring tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including inspection, cleaning and lubrication.
- Provide customer support and training on the operation and maintenance of the machines.
- Identify, analyze and resolve system problems in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on latest products, services and technologies.
Qualifications:
- 2 year Electronic or Technical Degree, or experience equivalent
- Minimum of two years experience with Wire EDM machines (preferred)
- Familiarity with CNC programming.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding mechanical drawings.
- Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical measurement tools for troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
