Job description

Overview:We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The Bookkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records reconciling accounts and supporting daytoday financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail proficiency in accounting software and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records using accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero).
  2. Record financial transactions including purchases sales receipts and payments into appropriate ledgers and journals.
  3. Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable and receivable records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  4. Prepare and send invoices to customers and follow up on outstanding payments as needed.
  5. Process accounts payable invoices verify expenses and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  6. Manage payroll processing including calculating wages issuing paychecks and maintaining payroll records.
  7. Assist with monthend and yearend closing procedures including preparing financial statements and reports.
  8. Generate and analyze financial reports such as profit and loss statements balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to financial policies and procedures.
  10. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities and provide support for financial audits as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  2. 2 years of experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role preferably in a small to mediumsized organization.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices including GAAP.
  5. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  6. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to reconcile accounts and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  8. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  9. Strong organizational and time management skills with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
