Job description

This growing community hospital near the Bay Area is actively interviewing for a Nursing Manager to take oversight of its Women’s and Children’s Services department. You’ll join a strong and talented leadership team, and you’ll lead a dedicated staff of Obstetrics, NICU, Labor & Delivery, and Postpartum caregivers in a technologically advanced hospital.

This community hospital near the SF Bay Area has a history of superior patient outcomes, a full range of offered services, and a family atmosphere. Providers, nurses, staff, and administrators have developed an outstanding reputation in the community for setting a high bar in terms of quality and value. The Manager of Women’s and Children’s will play an integral role in continuing and improving the hospital’s mission of compassionate care.

Reporting to the Administrative Director of Obstetrics, Women’s, and Children’s Services, the Nursing Manager will serve as clinical and administrative lead for a dedicated team. Reporting to this Manager are two Obstetrics Nursing Supervisor and two RNC-OB Charge Nurses who will support policy development, quality improvement, and execution of unit directives. Furthermore, the Clinical Manager will serve as a mentor and champion for OBGYN and RNC-OB Registered Nurses, Postpartum Nurses, Midwives, and support staff.

The Women’s and Children’s Nursing Manager will oversee an amazing and family oriented department, which offers a wide array of services to the community. The Obstetrics / Women’s Services department offers a 10-bed LDRP department, with 4 additional private Postpartum and Recovery rooms, 1 Operating Room, and even has dedicated triage bays. This Manager will work closely with the Nursery Manager who oversees a Level II Nursery with dedicated provider staff and tenured RNs.

The Nursing Manager will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining clinical and operational excellence for not only the Women’s Services department, but also the hospital. Clinically, the Nursing Manager will serve the staff and unit as a source of expertise, mentorship, and performance improvement. From an administration standpoint, you’ll develop and maintain the departmental budget, and you’ll serve as the expert on compliance and regulatory readiness for these multiple units.

Those who are new to the San Francisco Bay Area and those who’ve lived there for years, each discover the same thing: it has something for everyone! The Women’s and Children’s Services RN Manager will find adventure no matter what direction they decide to travel. A bit north, and you’ll be in the middle of California’s famous Wine Country, with all the beautiful vistas and multi-colored orchards. An hour west and you’re in the heart of San Francisco, where haute cuisine, world-class theater, and all manner of nightlife await. South and East take you to long hikes, large open skies, as many outdoor activities as you could want. Nearly anywhere you settle, you’ll find some of America’s top schools, a community of compassionate neighbors, and fantastic weather.

The Nurse Manager of Women’s and Children’s Services will have a large support network within the hospital and ambulatory clinic, from executive leadership to front-line nursing staff. You’ll have a large responsibility of the quality and efficiency of the facility’s operations and mission, but that’s exactly how you like it. You’ll also be supported by a generous benefits package and a competitive compensation.
