The Facilities Manager position is located within Public Works which includes the Solid Waste, Transit, Fleet and Street Operations Divisions. The purpose of this position is to manage and administer the operational aspects of the Facilities Division of the Public Works Department relating to City-owned buildings, including design and construction, maintenance and repair, capital replacement, contractual services, housekeeping, and operational projects. Prepares and monitors budgets; manages all Facilities Division activities; provides ancillary services; completes studies; presents findings to management; serves on City committees.

The ideal candidate for this position will have: - Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Have more than five years of supervisory experience.
- Strong experience in budgeting, attention to detail, forecasting revenues and expenditures, and analysis.
- Experience with facility master plan implementation.
- Extensive experience and exposure to contracts, requests for bid/proposals, engineering/construction activity.

Minimum Requirements: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction or Facilities related field.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible professional experience. Minimum of five years supervisory experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.
- Limited Police Department Background Check.
Licenses and Certifications: - Valid AZ Driver’s License upon hire.
Preferred / Desirable Qualifications: - Experience in a municipal or government setting.
- Prefer seven years of facility and supervisory experience.
- Engineering or construction management degree preferred.
- Knowledge of Applicable Federal, State, and local Laws, rules, regulations, codes, and/or statutes.
- Principles and practices of facilities management, especially in a municipal setting, including architecture, construction, and maintenance of buildings.
- Principles and practices of facilities operations and maintenance, building automation and control systems, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, exterior maintenance, custodial, elevators, generators, fire/life safety and energy management.
- Experience in preparing reports, giving presentations, analyzing complex information, building consensus, executing multiple tasks, and managing change.
- Recognize problems, identify alternative solutions, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, etc., to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction in oral and written form.
- Experience in budget and contract administration.
- Experience in developing, monitoring, and managing organizational, departmental and workgroup goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of personnel management, timekeeping, work orders, and multiple related software programs
