Job description

Forsyth Seafood Market & Cafe in Winston Salem, NC is looking for one wholesale manager (fresh seafood department) to join our 18 person strong team. We are located on 108 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and hard-working.

This is a new position that our company is excited to develop. As the wholesale Manager, you will be responsible for builidng and growing the wholesale accounts within our fresh seafood market department of our company. The manager will visit & meet with local restaurants & chef teams; with the overall responsibility of developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to drive wholesale customer retention and satisfaction, while expanding our company’s market-share across all fresh seafood sectors. We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of sales experience in food services and at least 4 years of seafood wholesale market/industry experience.

Responsibilities:

+ Development & Maintenance of wholesale accounts 

+ Developing account leads with restaurants, chefs, & culinary professionals

+ Aggregate and communicate regional culinary and ingredient trends 

+ Creating effective pitches that represent the company in a great light

+ Effective client rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships 

+ Responsible for quarterly account targets

+ This job will require local travel on a weekly basis

Qualifications:

+ Strong fish butchering & fabricating knowledge

+ Must be local to the Piedmont Triad area 

+ Dependable personal transportation

+ Culinary creativity 

+ Requires at least 4 years of culinary experience 

+ At least 2 years experience in a sales role preferred 

+ Requires a culinary degree or equivalent experience 

+ Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession

+ Requires oral, reading, and written communication skills 

+ ServSafe certification and/or food safety knowledge required

+ Strong catering/ restaurant experience encouraged
