Job Summary:
The Corporate Treasury department has broad oversight of the capital structure and management of financial risk for The Walt Disney Company.
The Pension & Investments group within Corporate Treasury oversees over $25 billion of retirement plan assets encompassing both defined benefit (pension) and defined contribution (401(k)) plans. The company’s pension plan is invested in a broad array of diversified investments across assets classes, including public equities, fixed income and alternative investments (private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds, distressed debt and commodities).
The Director, Pension & Investments will be responsible for helping to lead strategic initiatives as well as day-to-day activities for the group and will serve as an integral member of the Corporate Treasury team.
- Maintaining and updating, as needed, the pension plan’s investment objectives, target asset allocation and investment policies
- Identifying and developing relationships with prospective investment managers across equities, fixed income, public market alternatives and private market strategies within the Company’s defined benefit and defined contribution plans
- Monitoring existing investment managers and terminating underperforming investment managers
- Preparing materials for, and participating in, quarterly Investment & Administrative Committee (IAC) meetings with senior management (including the Treasurer, CFO, General Counsel, and Chief Human Resources Officer)
- Successfully partnering with financial reporting, legal and benefits team to ensure that investment objectives and investment results are appropriately reported / disclosed and meet the Company’s overall employee benefit objectives
- Development, management and mentorship of the Pension & Investments team
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in investment management
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and effective communication skills
- Self-starter with ability to succeed in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Required Education:
- BA or BS from top-tier school
- CFA (required) and MBA (preferred)
The hiring range for this position in is $ 197,700to $241,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
