Grand Peak Academy (GPA) is kindergarten-eighth grade public, Core Knowledge charter school
committed to providing excellent educational opportunities to students in Northeast Colorado Springs.

Position Overview:
Grand Peak Academy is seeking an Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year to join a committed
team of educators to strengthen the foundation of an extraordinary school. The Assistant Principal is
entrusted with advancing the mission of the school in conjunction with the school's administrative team
by ensuring and maintaining a culture and climate which supports continual growth for staff and
students. This individual will ensure that all students make gains in academic achievement and growth.
Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Principal works alongside and in collaboration with the Principal, Instructional Coach, and
the Counselor through:
Leadership and Management:
● Innovate and promote opportunities and solutions so that time and resources drive student
growth academically, socially, and personally to fulfill GPA's mission.
● Foster clear expectations for student behavior, manage the student discipline system using the
lens of restorative practices.
● Ensure compliance with all relevant district, state and federal regulations.
● Recruit, inspire, manage, and support talented faculty and staff in order to maintain high levels
of excellence and professionalism.
● Coordinate and manage GPA interim assessments and all state standardized tests: CMAS,
WIDA/ACCESS, Teaching Strategies Gold, STAR Renaissance Learning, etc., using data to support
the school, teachers, students, and families.
● Oversee and coordinate 504 meetings, plans, and programming with staff, students, and
families, as necessary, supporting students who are linguistically diverse or have a specialized
learning plan.
● Coordinate and serve on the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) team and Response to
Intervention process to ensure that every student is supported to learn and grow.
● Collaborate effectively with key school partners.

Instruction:
● Ensure all faculty and staff implement best practices to ensure sustained academic and
social-emotional growth for all students, including those who are linguistically diverse or who
have special needs.
● Direct a rigorous and highly engaging standards-based instructional program.
● Oversee GPAs Instructional Assistants.
● Build systems to support effective instructional practice and provide regular observational
coaching as well as targeted professional development opportunities.
● Create a professional learning community in which faculty collaboratively and continuously
refine curriculum and instruction to support every student's success.
● Promote data-driven instructional processes (Data Teams), including regular student
assessments, and the use of data to inform curriculum, instruction and professional
development.
● Ensure fidelity to instructional systems that support student social-emotional and behavioral
success.
● Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
● Master's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience and a
principal license.
● Candidate shall have 2-3 years of classroom teaching experience and at least 2 years of
administration experience making them fully qualified and prepared to step into the role of
Principal.

Compensation
We offer a competitive compensation package which includes comprehensive health benefits some of which are employer paid and employees have the opportunity to select different plans. Paid vacation as well as sick time.
Salary range $75,000-$85,000
This position will be for the 2024-2025 school year
