Rosie’s Place was founded in 1974 as the first women’s shelter in the United States. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to help poor and homeless women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives.

Over the years, we have become much more than a shelter. We are a multi-service community center that not only provides meals and shelter but also creates answers for thousands of women a year through wide-ranging support, housing and education services. Rosie’s Place relies on the generous support of individuals, foundations and corporations and does not accept any city, state or federal funding.

OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, the Clinical Director will develop and oversee comprehensive behavioral health programs at Rosie’s Place. They are responsible for program creation, financial management, development of program policies, evaluation of clinical operations, hiring and supervising of clinical staff. The Clinical Director provides overall strategic direction and leadership to the clinical team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic and Programmatic

• Design, implement, and evaluate behavioral health programs and service delivery that is efficient and systematic, while ensuring that all services are provided in a manner consistent with our core values and mission. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation of behavioral health programs.
• Work in partnership with Senior Program Leadership, to detect gaps in Rosie’s Place services. Identify new providers or services for guests to address those gaps creatively.
• Provide direct clinical care to guests in individual and group settings as needed. Provide mental health evaluations and diagnoses while creating and implementing treatment plan reviews and drafting case notes.
• Assist with implementing and evaluating new models of service delivery to meet the changing needs of guests.
• Identify and set program goals, and report on progress. Identify ways to measure success and demonstrate the impact of programs.
• Ensure that Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice are values that are being practiced throughout all Clinical Programs.
• Annually negotiate, assess, and implement contracted service providers.

Administrative Leadership & Team Management

• Direct, supervise, and evaluate staff following Rosie’s Place model of supervision. This includes regular, formal, individual supervision, group meetings and yearly evaluations.
• Provide reliable guidance and leadership to the behavioral health program staff.
• Develop and monitor behavioral health program budgets; work with program managers to allocate spending according to the guidelines established.

• Ensure that staff receive appropriate training; develop a personalized training program for each program manager. Help managers identify areas of growth for their employees and identify training programs to strengthen their skills.

• Responsible for ensuring all behavioral health programs are adequately staffed.
• Fulfills responsibilities as a member of the Management Team, including participation in appropriate meetings and demonstrating top leadership to all of Rosie’s Place.
• Ensure that behavioral health program staff follow all organizational procedures and policies.

• Represent Rosie’s Place to the larger community while demonstrating our core values and supporting our mission.

• Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Program Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong commitment to social justice and the mission of Rosie’s Place.
• Master’s Degree in a behavioral health related field.
• License in social work or counseling (i.e., LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, and/or similar certification/licensure).
• Ten years of human service experience working with marginalized communities, five years’ experience supervising staff/managers.
• Bilingual abilities preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to welcome, train, motivate, and manage a diversity of people from various backgrounds
• Experience in creating and building new programs is preferred.
• Creative problem-solving and prioritizing capability.
• Experience in operational and strategic planning as well as budget development
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information in a written and oral format to staff, guests and external partners.
• Strong, professional ethics, integrity, and accountability in all actions.
• Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively and collaboratively with a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with database management.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The starting salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $100,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

In an effort to increase equity, and because we know that salary negotiations tend to have an unfair bias, we do not participate in salary negotiations outside of this stated starting salary range.

WORK EXPECTATIONS AT ROSIE’S PLACE

We are a hands-on team and seek employees who are passionate about our work and service to our community. The Student Coordinator is expected to work onsite at Rosie’s Place during their work week and engage regularly with staff, guests, and volunteers.

We continue to adapt to safety protocols related to COVID-19 as we understand them, and all employees must follow our safety protocols. Among these protocols, we require all employees to be up to date with their COVID vaccinations. Requests for medical or religious exemptions from the COVID vaccination are considered.
