Come join a dynamic care team at LifeLong Medical Care. We are looking for a Cancer Prevention Specialist in Berkeley. Responsible for coordinating activities to substantially improve the quality of care provided to LifeLong patients and to achieve quality improvement goals.
This is a full time, 40 hrs/wk, benefit eligible position.
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW. Salaries and benefits are set by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA), and an employee in this position must remain a member in good standing of SEIU-UHW, as defined in the CBA.

COVID-19 Vaccine Policy
In accordance with LifeLong Medical Care's commitment to provide and maintain a workplace that is free of known hazards, we have adopted a Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccine Policy to safeguard the health of our employees and their families; our patients and visitors; and the community at large from infectious diseases, that vaccinations may reduce. This policy will comply with all applicable laws and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Order of the California State Public Health Officer. - Under the direction of the Director and using advanced analytics, performs chart scrubbing to rectify gaps in abnormal cancer test notation, retest interval classification, and scheduling of appropriate follow-up cancer prevention care.
- Using established protocols and systems, outreaches to patients via phone and face-to-face interaction for cancer test follow up and new test scheduling. Maintains documentation of contact with patients.
- Communicate with providers and other staff members by regularly monitoring EPIC (electronic health record [EHR]) messages, including new abnormal test results following standardized charting workflow.
- Shares progress and learnings with primary care health centers across LifeLong through electronic and in-person messaging.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality improvement of breast, cervical and colorectal cancer prevention at LifeLong, with support from the Director, the Population Health Program Manager, and other staff members.
- Actively participate in team meetings for reporting, performance coaching, networking, and take part in ongoing trainings.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.

- Proficiency in computer operations, navigational skills and comfortable with internet-based applications.

Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of direct patient contact experience
- At least 3 years of EHR experience (EPIC platform preferred)
- Experience retrieving, organizing and assessing quantitative data
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite, especially Microsoft Excel
Job Preferences
- Bilingual in Spanish/English, ability to speak fluently, read and write; highly desirable.
- Experience working for a non-profit community health clinic and/or social service organization.
