Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Human Resources Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated HR Specialist (HRS). The ideal candidate for the HR Specialist role demonstrates a high level of initiative, learning agility, flexibility, time management, and a strong aptitude for process improvement and problem-solving. The HR Specialist role serves as a great entry role for a candidate interested in future growth opportunities on the HR Business Advisor (HRBA) team or in the broader HR department.

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide critical, ongoing support to the HRBA team as it relates to all activities tied to the team member lifecycle (Recruitment, Onboarding, Development (talent movement), Offboarding, etc.)

Reporting to the HRBA, the person in this role will support the HRBA team’s objective to help establish and promote an organizational culture and climate in which team members have the engagement, commitment, competencies, and care to serve our customers well. The Human Resource Specialist plays a critical role in establishing the desired culture and climate for Toyota.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide ongoing HRBA team support for a variety of critical day-to-day activities (Onboarding, Transfers, Terminations/Offboarding, etc.). Serve as the first line of customer service to respond to and resolve team members' and leaders’ questions and concerns by leveraging policies and practices. Help coordinate and plan HRBA team meetings, training, events, and activities.
• Serve as an overall HR technology resource and expert. Leverage technology expertise to help lead HR adoption and support the HR team and organization. Technologies/systems of use may include: Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for Workday to coordinate onboarding/offboarding, talent acquisition, performance management, etc. Sales Force for reporting and data management. Provide accurate and timely processing of team member data via Workday. Participate as an SME in process improvements.
• Support/partner on the recruiting, transfer, and onboarding/offboarding processes, ensuring a consistent and efficient candidate experience (i.e., new hire coordination and orientation, internal transfers, I-9 processing, PIN Management, reporting, and all other ad hoc recruitment support)
• Be flexible and serve as an advocate for change demonstrating openness to new ideas and ways of doing things and effectively leveraging Kaizen methodology and tools to improve processes
• Supports and/or contributes to various projects that are typically standardized and/or of short-to-medium term and scope.

• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Strong detail orientation
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)
• Knowledge and basic understanding of applicable employment/labor laws

Added bonus if you have

• Four-Year College Degree preferred
• Prior Human Resources experience
• Proficiency in Workday
• Knowledge and basic understanding of Toyota employment policies
