As a Personal Banker you will be responsible for providing a wide range of banking services to our customers. You will handle cash transactions, assist customers with their banking needs, and promote our products and services to enhance their financial well-being.

Bank Michigan is seeking career-minded candidates for a Part Time Personal Banker (aka Teller) to assist in our Ann Arbor Branch. Hours average 25/week. In addition to a professional, customer-focused demeanor, candidates should have previous customer service and cash handling experience, an appetite to learn/grow and be proficient with technology required.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides superior customer service while performing over-the-counter deposit/loan transactions, product/service sales and problem solving.

Prior banking and/or customer service/cash handling experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits into computer records.
  2. Cashes checks and processes withdrawals; pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
  3. Promotes and explains other financial institution services such as consumer and mortgage loans, IRAs, certificates of deposit, safe deposit boxes, traveler's checks and money orders.
  4. Receives mortgage, consumer loan and other payments and ensures the payments match balances due. Enters payments into computer. Generates customer receipts.
  5. Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
  6. Counts, checks and packages coins and currency.
  7. Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer generated proof sheet. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
  8. Is responsible for checking night depository bags and recording proper information on the financial institution's forms.
  9. Uncovers customer needs and assists them in opening accounts/services to meet their needs.
  10. Next day review of all account documentation/CIP verification.
  11. Scanning and uploading all necessary account documentation.
  12. Daily balancing of ATM machine.
  13. Ordering of customer checks/deposit tickets.
  14. Process daily night drop deposits.
  15. Assisting customers with Online Banking Services: set up, password resets, etc.
  16. Responsible for opening and closing the branch.
  17. Works harmoniously and collaboratively with team members to accomplish bank objectives.
