TEEN INTERN- LUNCH AT THE LIBRARY

 15 HOURS PER WEEK- SUMMER

 
Internship opportunity for Sonoma County teens aged 16-18 years old.
 
Sonoma County Library is hiring Teen Interns for Summer Lunch at the Library. This program ensures that Sonoma County children can receive free healthy lunches during the summer. The Lunch at the Library Teen Intern is responsible for a variety of activities of the program working under the direction of and library staff. All Sonoma County teens aged 16-18 years old are encouraged to apply. No previous work experience required. 

 
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Attend orientations and trainings
• Set-up the meal service area, count meals, and serve lunch
• Maintain a clean site before, during and after meal service
• Play games, lead activities, and do crafts with children and parents
• Clean up at the end of meal service  
• Lunch at the Library is a joint partnership between the Library and a federally funded program, so Teen Interns will be expected to learn and follow all Federal guidelines and Sonoma County Library regulations and procedures.

WHEN:      

• May 28 - August 9 (12 weeks)
• Monday – Friday, 11:00 am - 2pm (shifts may vary)
• We understand that school will still be in session during the training period at the beginning of the internship from May 28 – June 7. Hours worked will be after the school day.
• The total time commitment is 18 hours of required training and 150 hours of regularly scheduled shifts over 12 weeks. Interns must be able to complete all 18 hours of training and at least 130 of the 150 scheduled hours in order to be considered for the internship opportunity.
  
  

WHERE:  
We will hire two (2) Teen Interns for each of these seven Sonoma County Library locations:

• Central Santa Rosa Library
• Cloverdale Regional Library
• Northwest Santa Rosa Library- Coddingtown
• Petaluma Regional Library
• Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library
• Sebastopol Regional Library
• Sonoma Valley Regional Library

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Teenager aged 16-18 years old, Sonoma County resident. Minors (ages 16-17) must obtain a work permit from their school to participate in this paid internship. You must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2024 to apply. 

 
SALARY RANGE:               $17.60/hour
 
CLOSING DATE:                11:59 PM on Monday, March 18, 2024
 
Interviews tentatively scheduled for April 8-12th and April 15-19th
