Overview :

Plays an active and critical role in the successful implementation of high-impact, strategic, enterprise projects determined by J. Jill’s governance process. Supports the efforts of the Merchandising, Planning, and Allocation Systems team. Support PMO office and adheres to all guidelines related to J. Jill’s governance policies.  Works closely with both IT and business throughout the course of a project and is responsible for leading and supporting the technical teams thru technical requirements, design, and periodic code reviews. Serves as a key contributor to make sure functionality and performance for the business and to integrate with other systems in the enterprise.

Responsibilities :

Serves as subject matter expert in architecting, designing, building, and maintaining two or more of J. JILL Retail Merchandising and Planning suite of applications listed below:

Oracle RMS (Retail Merchandising System)

Oracle RESA (Retail Sales Audit)

Oracle RTM (Retail Trade Management)

Oracle REIM (Retail Invoice Match)

Oracle SIM (Store Inventory Management)

Oracle RPM (Retail Price Management)

Oracle RIB (Retail Integration Bus)

BY Allocation

BY Enterprise planning

Leads business requirement analysis with the business partners, conducts design sessions with the cross-functional teams to implement new system enhancements or tools.

Applies engineering techniques to troubleshoot and maintain WebLogic Application server for RESA, REIM, SIM, RPM and RIB application.

Works closely with the Merchandising operations, Store Operations, Finance, Internal Audits, Sourcing compliance, Planning, Allocation teams to diagnose system related issues and identify systemic process gaps. Implement systemic solutions to resolve these issues. 

Debugs and develops new Oracle software code components in computer programming languages Java, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle ADF, Oracle Forms, Unix shell scripts, Microsoft batch scripts.

Resolves application performance issues by tuning SQL queries, PL/SQL programs, reorganize Oracle RMS/SIM tables/indexes to enhance performance of batch/application/interface programs.

Deploys critical system/security patch release from Oracle onto JJill Oracle application instances and runs validation exercises using computer engineering methodologies.

Retrofits new Oracle Patches (written in PL/SQL, Java, Unix scripts, Oracle forms and Pro*C) onto current version of the Oracle code in JJill production to ensure system upgrade will not break business functions.

Monitors Retail integration bus (RIB) and addresses errors by utilizing diagnostics and monitoring tools.

Liaisons and collaborates very closely with IS cross functional teams such as Enterprise systems integration, technology Infrastructure, database administration, server administration, Retail systems, Enterprise data warehouse, business intelligence systems, supply chain systems, IT helpdesk for the day-to-day system-related issues.   

Participates in inventory, financial balance reconciliations across Enterprise applications like RMS, EP, General ledger, Warehouse Management system. Analyzes the root cause of variances and work with business partners to take corrective action.

Works with the sourcing compliance, finance, and planning team to ensure open to buy cost accuracy and implement systemic fixes for the identified issues.

Develops process and Interfaces to upload business data files into JDA EP, JDA Allocations and Oracle Retail systems using system upload processes.

Leads effort to perform impact analysis, design and implement systemic changes tied to new business initiatives.

Supervises production deployment by participating in change approval exercise and ensure the validity of deployments.

Qualifications :

Technical and Functional knowledge in at least two of the listed Retail enterprise applications

Oracle Retail Merchandising operations system

Oracle SIM (Store Inventory Management)

Oracle RPM (Retail Price Management)

Oracle RIB (Retail Integration Bus)

Oracle RESA (Retail Sales Audit)

Enterprise Planning (Oracle or JDA).

Allocation and Replenishment (Oracle or JDA)

Proficiency in writing SQL queries, programming in PL/SQL, Unix shell scripts. Knowledge of Microsoft batch scripts, Pro*C and Core Java is preferred.

Good understanding of queue-based message integration like Oracle AQ, IBM WebSphere.

Good understanding of secure file transfer protocol (SFTP).

Experience in Confluence, JIRA, and other defects/incidents management tools.

Familiarity with agile as well as hybrid SDLC methodologies.

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, or any other productivity tools.   

Experience in implementing and supporting Cloud-based applications is preferred.

Experience in leading a small to medium sized technology projects is preferred.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS related field, or equivalent professional experience.

6+ years of technical systems experience in supporting at least two of the following functional areas – Merchandising Operations, Financial Planning, Allocation, Replenishment, Inventory Management, Revenue Accounting, Accounts payable, Stock ledger, or Store Operations.
