Salary: $100K to $120K
Description: The company's Space and Defense produces spaceflight hardware and software solutions, integrating vehicle design, component design and engineering services for aerospace, scientific, commercial, and military customers on four continents. The company has partnered with NASA to provide electronic solutions for the Artemis Orion Crew Capsule, Viper Lunar Rover, Satellite Laser Communications Relay, OSIRIS-REX to study asteroid composition along with complete satellite buses for the defense department.
We are looking to hire an electronics-focused Systems Engineer with business development experience who will work with engineers, business development, and finance personnel to provide technical and cost solutions for external customers.
Responsibilities: As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of the business development team that responds to customer inquiries about custom and existing products. This will involve tasks such as architecting electronic systems and solutions, responding to customers request for rough-order-magnitude and proposal submittals, coordinating customer meetings, reviewing requirements and statements of work, generating cost and schedule information, and participating in the new program transfer process to the engineering execution team.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electronics system level architecture and design, preferably in space electronics or commercial high-speed digital systems
- Architect multi-board, backplane-based systems.
- Architect logical division of functions across multiple boards in system
- Optimize system for Size, weight, and power constraints.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in board level design, preferably in space digital electronics or commercial high-speed digital products such as high-performance single board computers
- Schematic Capture, Layout, Board Bring-up, Test or Hi-Rel FPGA Design
- Knowledge of the design, assembly, and test phases of electronic product development
- Experience with technical writing and proposals
- Experience with cost estimation methods
- Ability to multitask in a demanding business development environment and meet important deadline commitments.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics system level architecture and design, preferably in space electronics or commercial high-speed digital systems.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in board level design. Ex; high-performance high performance single board computers.
- Must have experience with proposals and cost-estimation.
