About the Role
The Director, Diversity & Inclusion reports to the Global Director, Culture and Employee Engagement and is responsible for championing diversity and inclusion (D&I) while building and maintaining relationships within Magna International. This role is highly collaborative, considers diverse perspectives, communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, encourages innovation and applies project management techniques to deliver results for a multi-faceted program.
Your Responsibilities
Lead and shape global strategies to drive the attraction, development, and retention of a diverse, high-performance workforce, with a specific emphasis on promoting the inclusion of women and BIPOC communities.
Serve as a trusted advisor on diversity and inclusion matters, collaborating with various stakeholders in Global Human Resources and business units to implement strategies and foster inclusive practices and behaviors across the organization.
Engage external vendors, Specialists, and the internal Learning and Development Team to design and deliver training programs and resources aligned with Magna's objectives for enhancing awareness and comprehension of diversity and inclusion.
Consult with the Communications Department to develop comprehensive internal and external communication strategies, campaigns, and tactics that promote inclusivity.
Provide continuous support to ensure the success and growth of Magna's Employee Resource Communities (ERCs) while advancing the organization's ERC maturity model.
Manage the Global Diversity & Inclusion Council, including agenda creation, preparation, and presentation coordination for quarterly meetings.
Evaluate the progress and impact of diversity and inclusion initiatives through effective measurement, analysis, and reporting, while offering recommendations for priority areas of focus. Additionally, benchmark and track Magna's progress against industry-leading automotive organizations.
Identify and establish strategic partnerships with external speakers, experts, educators, community partners, and other valuable resources.
Develop and oversee external partnerships funded by the Diversity & Inclusion Program, working closely with internal functional teams (CSR, Sustainability, etc.) to deepen and amplify existing partnerships in alignment with diversity and inclusion objectives.
Bring thought leadership and incorporate external best practices to inform and enhance Magna's Inclusion strategy.
Who we are looking for
10+ years of proven, demonstrable experience in Human Capital, Diversity and Inclusion Program Management, HR Strategy or related field.
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field
Passion for D&I work; demonstrated awareness of all facets of diversity, and inclusion.
Ability to translate evidence-based strategy into actionable plans driving cultural and behavioral changes to enable an inclusive environment
Project Management experience with ability to implement corporate change strategies in partnership with senior leadership and across functions.
Strong business acumen supplemented with the proven ability to build successful and effective relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization.
Proven communication, facilitation, and presentation skills to promote ideas persuasively and effectively, win buy-in for initiatives and work through conflicts, to ensure operational alignment and high impact execution.
Extensive analytic and data reporting skills
