Job description
Position Overview: The Controller with ERP Implementation Experience will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management and accounting operations while leading the implementation of a new ERP system. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of financial systems, ERP implementation methodologies, and change management principles. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving process improvements, optimizing system functionality, and ensuring the successful adoption of the new ERP system across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
ERP Implementation Leadership:
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of a new ERP system, working closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery of the ERP implementation project.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to define system requirements, configure system modules, and establish best practices for system usage.
Financial Management:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance efficiency, and improve data accuracy.
- Implement best practices and standardized procedures to optimize workflow and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address gaps in existing processes and systems.
Change Management:
- Develop and execute change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of the new ERP system.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to end-users to ensure effective utilization of the ERP system.
- Communicate updates, milestones, and benefits of the ERP implementation to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with ERP system vendors, consultants, and service providers.
- Monitor vendor performance, deliverables, and contract compliance to ensure alignment with project objectives and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial management and ERP systems.
- Proven track record of successfully leading ERP implementation projects from planning through execution.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite preferred.
- Change management certification or experience is a plus.
