Job description

Position Description:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day payables activities for Hillcrest Educational Centers, Inc. and its two affiliated organizations. This person will support the Hillcrest mission, vision, and values and will adhere to the organization's policies and procedures.

Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience:
Minimum of two years of Accounts Payables experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Review invoices for proper approval, coding, pricing, extensions and
verifying any past due previous balance prior to posting.
- Issue and maintain Purchase Orders.
- Processes check requisitions, and petty cash requests.
- Process weekly check runs.
- Maintain accurate vendor files.
- Prepare and issue annual 1099 forms to appropriate vendors.
- Interface with Payroll Specialist to insure that with-holdings are correct;
review check requisition documentation for accuracy.
- Reconcile Account Payable Month-end report to the general ledger
balance.
- Maintain payables records and prepare necessary reports for the annual
audit.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), Great Plains a plus.
- Provides other support to the Business Office as needed.

Other Duties:

- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high volume environment.
- Attention to detail, and strong communication skills, both written and
verbal.
- Ability to operate independently in a professional manner and maintain a
high level of confidentiality.
