Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH)

Official Title: After Hour Emergency Coordinator - This is a contractor position with no benefits other than earned sick time.

The Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH) seeks a committed, engaging, and collaborative individual to coordinate the After-Hours Emergency Services Program. The After-Hours Emergency Services Coordinator (AHE Coordinator) is primarily responsible for scheduling communication access providers for after-hours emergency on-call shifts monthly, as well as accepting emergency requests from the community and deploying communication access providers to those emergencies, either from the on-call schedule, or if no one is scheduled, from the back-up list of providers who have indicated they are willing to be contacted for emergencies. The AHE Coordinator is also responsible for accepting and working on Press Conference requests, in collaboration with the Referral Team, from the Governor’s and Mayor’s office. The AHE Coordinator is also responsible for collecting, documenting, and analyzing AHE data, and submitting data reports as requested to the Director of Communication Access Services. The AHE Coordinator will also engage in day-to-day referral work as assigned by the Director of Communication Access Services and/or Referral Service Supervisor. Knowledge of Deaf Culture, American Sign Language and Interpreter practices strongly preferred. This is a fully remote position.
