Job Description Summary
The Lean Leader in Sourcing will have shared accountability for results with the commodity and SP&E teams delivering results by identifying process improvement needs, developing lean transformation roadmaps and prioritizing the execution of needed process improvements. This role will be an extension of the team as a hands-on business partner helping lead operating cadence (daily management, operating reviews, etc.), problem solving, Hoshin Kanri (HK) and kaizen. This role is remote eligible, near Cincinnati, Ohio preferred.

Essential Responsibilities
In this role, you will be hands-on with process owners to utilize lean thinking & tools to ensure safety/people, quality, delivery, and cost results are being delivered serving the customer and the needs of the business. In addition, the Lean Leader will:
- Champion change across the organization to foster the growth in Lean culture.
- Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes across all areas of the facility.
- Utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short and some long-term goals.
- Act as a change agent in the implementation of demand flow utilizing lean tools and methodologies.
- Establish and implement strategies, programs, and practices to achieve lean business system adoption across Sourcing.
- Manage the full implementation of the lean management system including strategy/HK, value stream activities, daily management, and architecture/infrastructure.
- Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of Lean tools.
- Assessing and addressing gaps through course development and delivery.
- Drive measurable improvements within the business.
- Facilitate kaizen events that are aligned with the achievement of the business level metrics.
- Partner with operating leaders and teams to uncover and assess continuous improvement opportunities for GE and its suppliers.
- Bring new ideas, motivation, and positive support to all levels of the team.
- Lead and effectively interface with the broader Supply Chain and other functions to problem solve and deliver results.
- Interface with internal/external contacts in an effective manner to ensure that technology and processes are positioned for current and future success.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- 5+ years of experience in functional business role and in lean; teaching, coaching, practicing, and/or applying lean methods.
Desired Experience and Characteristics
- Functional Sourcing or Supply Chain experience.
- Functional leadership experience internal/external to GE.
- Experience leading and facilitating kaizen, daily management/KPI leadership and Hoshin Kanri.
- Ability to drive improvement strategies while coaching teams through problem solving techniques.
- Demonstrated problem solving capability with ability to coach teams through problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and written communication skills.
- Project management and team leadership experience.
- Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
- Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.
