Summary/Objective:

The Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in fulfilling the HR administrative requirements of the Central Region. Reporting to the Associate Director of Human Resources and operating under the authority of the Human Resources Vice President and Executive Director, the Human Resources Generalist contributes to the effective management and execution of HR functions within the Central Region.

Essential Functions:

• The Human Resources Generalist will effectively manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring and orientation of qualified applicants for open positions.
• Collaborate closely with departmental managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the skills and competencies required for vacant positions.
• The Human Resources Generalist will provide expert guidance to managers in various employee relation areas, including employee disciplinary meetings, performance management, productivity improvement, including recognition and morale enhancement, and training and development initiatives.
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities to enhance staff engagement, ensuring a focus on performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, and occupational health, and be an active member of the safety committee.
• The Human Resources Generalist will manage and process various employment-related matters, including unemployment insurance claims, ADA/FMLA requests, and unpaid leave requests.
• They will address inquiries related to employee benefits, salary deferral, and occupational health and safety, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of queries.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Human Resource Management or other related degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years of human resource management experience.
• Working knowledge of human resources functional areas and applicable federal, state employment laws is expected, as well as comprehensive knowledge of ethical and professional recruitment standards associated with employment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and team management skills.
• SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, and sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk, working on a computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 lbs. Ability to navigate stairs on occasion - not all locations are ADA compliant. The position requires travel up to 25% of the time to different offices and recruitment related events.
