JOB SUMMARY

The Exercise Physiologist develops and implements exercise programming for patients within the cardiopulmonary and vascular rehab program. This includes the ability to accurately review and interpret clinical measurements such as EKGs, hemodynamics and signs and symptoms of clinical deterioration.

This person also has the ability to educate patients individually as well as in group setting, provide the exercise prescriptions, consultations, and coordinate exercise functions for the program. Other responsibilities include conducting the wellness classes, presentations, and working within a multidisciplinary team.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Allied Health or Exercise Science. Certified by ACSM as Exercise Specialist or Master's degree in Exercise/Exercise Physiology preferred.

Licensure: Current license to practice in the state of Indiana (if physical therapist). Certified in Basic Life Support. ACLS Certification preferred.

Experience: Prefer two years previous experience in adult fitness and/or cardiac rehabilitation programs.

Other Job Requirements:

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, public relations, teaching and public speaking skills are required.

Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs.
