In this highly visible role, you will be part of the Finance transformation journey streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing project and program management, and communicating objectives across the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex business challenges and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
We seek a result-oriented, agile, and talented R&D FP&A Senior Director who will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is a critical member of the Finance team and a Finance Strategic Business Partner for the Chief Product Officer (CPO).
The role - Partner closely with the CPO and key R&D leaders to drive financially sound business decisions in support of Company strategy.
- Lead the development of long-term financial models and forecasts to support business planning and investment decisions.
- Drive the coordination of the various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts, and monthly outlooks).
- Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management on key performance metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Lead/support strategic R&D initiatives, providing both financial and business strategy perspectives and input.
- Create, maintain, and evolve financial analysis in support of NPI, Portfolio ROI, and Pricing strategy.
- Partner with Sales Finance and Operations to enhance the Sales and Operations Planning process to ensure accurate inventory management and product-level forecasting.
- Build strong communication, collaboration, and visibility across distributed engineering and finance teams.
- Create, Audit and review financial models to ensure they are both accurate and updated to reflect latest assumptions and changing business needs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and other members of the executive team, providing strategic insights and recommendations to drive business performance and profitability.
- The position requires working in the office every day but when acceptable to three (3) days per week with the option to work remotely on other days.
What you'll bring - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- +10 years of experience in related roles, preferably in technology companies.
- Relevant experience in FP&A.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suites, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in ERP and financial planning and analysis software/tools (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Anaplan, Tableau).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to distill complex financial data into clear and concise recommendations.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial modeling techniques.
- Ability to influence tough decision-making processes.
- Strategic thinking, growth mindset and result oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: Ability to work and develop strong relationships across all levels.
As required by the equal pay and transparency act in California, the expected base salary for this position is: Base Salary Range - $195,000 - $310,000 The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara's bonus and executive incentive pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
