Job description
Insight Global is seeking a Dev/Ops / SaaS / IaaS Engineer with direct experience building & deploying CI/CD pipelines, automation, Content Distribution, and providing continuous improvement of existing services and rollout of new features within a global private cloud services platform.
This position will be three days on site in either Kennesaw GA, Richmond VA, Chandler AZ, Jacksonville FL, or Chicago IL.
Key objectives: Build and enhance automation, develop & integrate REST API microservice, support core infrastructure, implement policy to meet technical, security, & regulatory standards, streamline workflow orchestration, improve tools & processes to automate content release process across a complex mix of environments and channels.
Responsibilities:
- Engineering & policy management experience with a global caching & content distribution platform powered by tools such as Varnish Cache, Squid, or Nginx platform operating as a CDN .
o Direct experience with managing Varnish Enterprise CDN and/or Varnish Control Language ( VCL ) ideally.
- Experience with tools such as Ansible, AWX / Tower, Jenkins, XL Release, PowerShell, & Artifactory or other build tools in a CI/CD process to build and deploy Windows, Linux, VMWare platforms to our global cloud environment.
- Experience developing and supporting a interdependent REST API microservices.
- Have working knowledge interfacing with various forms of API & micro-services. Ideally, direct experience working with Artifactory JFrog, AWX / Tower, & Foreman / Satellite APIs.
- Build logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to identify bottlenecks and assist with debugging, analysis, and optimization within a Global Content Delivery Network ( CDN ) & on-premises cloud environment
- Partner with Platform Dev & release teams to provide guidance and best practices around quality, performance, and release management of our production systems.
- Work with a creative engineering team to continuously implement and improve reliable and speedy build environments for DEV & QA; provide timely build enhancement updates; automate as much as possible to improve efficiency and quality.
- Improve operational efficiency through automation and deployment or development of new tools
- Experiment with and recommend new technologies that simplify or improve existing systems & processes.
- Craft solid and clearly explained designs, playbooks, and documentation, for consumption by teammates and the larger engineering organization
Skills and Requirements
- Experience with Dev-Ops & CI/CD pipelining on Windows & Linux platforms
- Experience with Global CDN , Standards, NGINX caching ( CDN )
- VCL (Varnish Control Language)
- RedHat Linux 8 – 9 experience
- Windows Server 2019-2022 experience
- Bash Shell Scripting knowledge
- PowerShell scripting knowledge
- System monitoring, centralized logging, statistics & reporting * Ansible / AWX Proficiency (ideally)
- Experience with Hashicorp Packer (ideally)
