DESCRIPTION
Otterbein University is seeking a
Graduate Assistant for the Department of Nursing who will be responsible for assisting faculty with scholarly or teaching assignments; administrative staff with clerical and data management tasks; and lab supervisor with nursing laboratory associated tasks. This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position reporting to the Administrative Coordinator.
BENEFITS of this position includes tuition waiver for graduate school studies and a stipend valued up to $6,000 annually as earned, paid on a bi-weekly schedule over 12 months.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist faculty members with scholarly work such as library searches.
- Assist with the design, implementation and data collection of research projects as directed.
- Assist faculty with teaching assignments such as grading of papers and developing grading rubrics.
- Enter data into nursing department databases.
- Assist laboratory supervisor with planning and set up of lab experiences, simulations and check-offs.
- Assist Administrative Assistant with clerical and office tasks, such as miscellaneous typing, copying and filing.
- Assist Administrative Coordinator with record keeping and office tasks.
- Assist faculty with committee tasks, such as data collection and database entry.
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate must possess the ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse communities and cultures. The graduate assistant must be accepted and enrolled into a Graduate School program at Otterbein University, must meet the requirements written within the Graduate School Policy Handbook and the Graduate Assistant Procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree required.
