What You'll Do:

As a Safety Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, supporting continuous improvement of the safety culture throughout the facility. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. Your work will directly impact the facility by executing strong safety programs and promoting healthy relationships with all site employees.

What We’re Looking For:

• Develop and foster relationships with plant personnel throughout the facility
• Manage and promote site safety programs including, but not limited to, fall protection, training, safe work, hazard communication, contractor, and ergonomics
• Create and implement workplace health and safety programs and procedures
• Lead health and safety expensed and capital projects
• Write, review and update plant health and safety engineering standards
• Assure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and Lubrizol standards and policies

Skills That Make a Difference:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Health and Safety or a related field from an accredited school
• 1+ years of industrial experience
• Strong technical knowledge of regulatory requirements
• Extensive attention to detail
• Good organizational, leadership and motivational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in writing procedures and standards
• Ability to work successfully with internal and external customers professionally

Considered a Plus: 

• Experience working at chemical manufacturing facility
• Experience developing and executing a behavior-based safety program
• OSHA 30 Hour 
• Completion of OSHA 511 training 

Working Conditions: 

• Ability to work in a plant environment
• Willing to be exposed to inclement weather while moving throughout the plant during the work day as required
• Ability to wear all required PPE
