Job description
We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in Real Estate, K-1, Tax, Accounting, Property Management, Audit, Capital Calls, and CPA. It would be beneficial for the successful candidate to also have experience with GAAP, K-1 Prep, Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, JV, Allocations, Distributions, Quickbooks, Management, Yardi, Juniper, HNW, Entrata and Appfolio.
The main purpose of this role is to oversee the financial operations of the organization by providing financial leadership and direction. The Director of Finance will be responsible for the accuracy and reliability of all financial information, the preparation of financial reports, and adherence to all applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep an eye on the monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements' preparation, making sure they adhere to corporate guidelines and GAAP.
- Ensure that K-1s are prepared accurately, on schedule, and distributed to investors.
- Stay up-to-date in partnership accounting and pertinent tax laws.
- Work with outside tax preparers to oversee tax compliance.
- Manage your own escrows for taxes, insurance, and lender requirements.
- Put into effect and uphold industry best practices for capital expenditures, depreciation schedules, and property assessments.
- Work to streamline procedures and guarantee compliance with outside auditors and tax consultants.
- Respond to questions about reporting and investor distributions.
- Manage forecasting models for cash flow to facilitate strategic decision-making.
- Lead, guide, and cultivate the accounting staff while cultivating a culture of precision, productivity, and advancement.
- Find and take advantage of possibilities to use automation and technology to improve reporting and expedite accounting procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification preferred
- Extensive experience in financial management, accounting, and reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in MS Office, QuickBooks, Yardi, Entrata, Juniper
