Employee Relations Manager- Parsippany, NJ *This role is a hybrid position requiring the candidate in office every Tuesday and Wednesday* Do you love helping people grow, manage, and develop their potential? Responsibilities WHAT YOU'LL DO At Wallenius Wilhelmsen, our Employee Relations Team provides support, guidance, and counsel around all aspects of people growth, management, and development.
As the Employee Relations Manager, you will:
- Work closely with all business units and areas to identify and understand the issues and opportunities that affect our workforce.
- Partner with our business areas to design an employee experience that fosters engagement, performance, recognition and reward.
- Ensure that our employee relations policies and practices are aligned with our values, vision and goals.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, such as conflict resolution, performance management, diversity and inclusion, and employee development.
- Lead and participate in employee relations initiatives and projects that enhance our culture and reputation.
Qualifications WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Minimum five (5) years progressive people management and leadership experience across both non-union and union environments.
- BA/BS university degree and/or 5 or more years progressive and practical management level experience. MA/MS/MBA can also be beneficial.
- Practical experience working collaboratively and constructively across all levels of an organization to identify and understand complex issues, and then building and implementing constructive resolutions.
EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and ability to interpret data.
- Experience with HRIS (Workday), Timekeeping (Kronos) systems and payroll (Paylocity).
- Comfort and confidence working within tight timeframes and speaking publicly with internal and external partners to establish consensus and collaboration.
