Job description
If you are a Mechanical Engineer with experience in mobile hydraulics or cylinder/pump design, please read on!
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer- Design and develop hydraulic cylinders using industry standards and internal specifications
- Partner with both internal and external partners to assist customers in phases of product development
- Review, develop, and prepare project documentation following industry and internal standards
- Use Daily Management to ensure projects are delivered on time and issues are resolved
- Develop DFMEAs and subsequent Test plans in order to mitigate design risks
- Develop engineering sketches, specifications and related data
- Engineering Degree - Mechanical, Agricultural Industrial, Manufacturing (all highly desired)
- Strong understanding in machining, cylinder design, or hydraulic design
- Possess a strong technical understanding of mobile hydraulics
- Must have a strong attention to detail to peer review designs and ensure manufacturability
- Baseline understanding of welding
- Working knowledge of materials used in the design of cylinders: carbon steel, hydraulic seals, cartridge valves and wear rings
- Extremely knowledgably in Lean Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Processes
- Experience with engineering CAD and analysis tools (CREO, ANSYS, Windchill etc.)
- Knowledge of industry standards (ASTM, ASME, ANSI, ABS, DNV etc.)
- Understand principles of lean manufacturing (maximize our value to our customers)
