POSITION: Southwest Regional Prevention Project Director
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The SW Regional Prevention Council Coordinator for Ohio Children Trust Fund (OCTF) is responsible for providing leadership and guidance for the work of the SW Ohio Regional Prevention Council, ensuring compliance with the responsibilities as identified in Ohio Revised Code (ORC 3109.15-179) and OAC 5101:5:1 (01-04). The SW region includes: Adam, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton, Highland, and Warren Counties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in social work, nursing, education or related field preferred.
- A minimum of three years' experience where the following skills were demonstrated: leadership, problem solving, crisis intervention techniques, communication, program implementation, data sharing, quality assurance and reporting
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with county-wide, regional and/or state-wide systems
- Extensive facilitation experience and ability to convene large groups of diverse stakeholders to accomplish a common goal
- Experience with needs assessment processes and utilization of data to inform decisions
- Experience with budgets, managing contracts, and administration
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel to all counties within the region and to Columbus
- Good leadership skills and willingness/ability to work as a team member.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, administration and other professionals.
- Computer skills appropriate to position.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- History of good job attendance.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must be free from communicable disease.
- Valid Ohio driver's license with good driving record with daily access to private insured vehicle during work hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide administrative support to the SW Regional Prevention Council including, but not limited to, ensuring quorum, planning and convening meetings of Council and workgroups, complying with Open Meetings Act, creating and disseminating agendas, minutes, notices, etc., and orienting new members
- Maintain regular communication with all Council members to ensure sustained engagement
- Perform budgetary, procurement, and other related management functions of the Council and workgroups.
- Facilitate and support the completion of a needs assessment for the region
- Facilitate the development of a child abuse and child neglect prevention plan for the region based on OCTF Board guidelines
- Coordinate the implementation of the prevention plan, including contracting with providers, monitoring of deliverables, achievement of plan outcomes, coordinating data collection, and timely, accurate reporting to the Council and OCTF Board
- Promote prevention priorities, strategies, and opportunities regionally in partnership with Council members, providers, and OCTF
- Provide technical assistance to Council members and service providers
- Serve as liaison to OCTF, participating in calls to staff, attendance at meetings, trainings, etc., and provision of progress updates and other information requested by OCTF
- Collaborate with a diverse group of state and county entities
- Report the presence of unauthorized or atypical visitors.
- Confer with supervisors regarding progress, concerns and recommendations.
- Maintain records and files as required.
- Plan and organize own work to meet priorities.
- Meet deadlines (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly).
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Continuously update and improve professional competence.
- Comply with state and federal regulations that pertain to the position (e.g. OSHA, OCR).
- Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- To serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
- To help instill in the students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of: Governing Board and OCTF Board policies and procedures, building policies and procedures, public relations, and state and federal reporting.
- Ability to: Interpret policies and procedures, follow instructions, communicate effectively, maintain files and reports, collect data; schedule; and lift moderate amounts of weight.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Copier, fax, computer and general office equipment.
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Occasional: Exposure to unruly children/adults, blood, bodily fluids and tissue
Periodic: Exposure to inclement weather driving conditions and severe weather; attends functions or performs duties outside the normal working hours.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
STARTING DATE: August 2024
SALARY: Based upon the approved Governing Board Salary Schedule
