Job description
Our client is a large property management firms in New York City. They are seeking a Property Manager experienced in affordable housing to manage a portfolio of close to 1000 units located on Staten Island.
This is a hands-on managerial role where you would be heavily involved with the buildings in your portfolio, while also managing a support staff working under you.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee operational aspects for a portfolio of approximately 1000 units
- Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations, including income certifications and recertification
- Oversee violation mitigation efforts involving HDP, DOB, ECB violations
- Support leasing, compliance and collection efforts
- Maintain frequent resident engagement and follow-up, ensuring excellent tenant relations
- Track and oversee annual apartment inspections
- Collaborate with external agencies, such as HUD and local housing authorities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the properties
Requirements:
- 7+ years prior experience working as a property manager in affordable housing
- Strong knowledge and experience with affordable housing regulations and compliance requirements required
- Experience with LIHTC and Mitchell Lama are a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse tenant population
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
