Tri-Cities Community Health (TCCH) is looking for a Dental Assistant who has a passion for helping others. As a community health center, located in southeastern Washington, serving Pasco, Kennewick, Richland and the surrounding communities.

Who are we? Our community health center began as a modest sized medical clinic in Pasco, Washington in 1981. The clinic was founded by a small group of women in the Pasco community who saw the need to serve low income community members who could not afford to pay for Healthcare.
Tri-Cities Community Health has grown into a comprehensive non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) where we have evolved into a network of community health centers that continue with the foundation TCCH was built on and serve an even more diverse population in the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas.
Our Opportunity: The Dental Assistant provides chairside assistance to dentists and provides direct patient care as it relates to dentistry. The Dental Assistant is responsible for taking x-rays, prepping patients for treatment, instrument sterilization and other duties as needed. Our staff strives to work at the top of their scope and delivers compassionate, quality patient care.
Essential Functions: - Under the supervision of Dentist or Dental Director, assist in all aspects of Dental exams and procedures.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of dental instruments, techniques, and procedures.
- Perform patient care activities in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Perform X-Rays and Impressions
- Maintain all areas in Dental Department to ensure high level of cleanliness and neatness at all times
- Obtain hospital privileges if applicable
- Assist with Dental Outreach Program as directed.
- Follows Tri-Cities Community Health exposure control and blood borne pathogen plans.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment
- Promotes positive working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives
- Ability to carry out all other duties as assigned
**This is a bargaining unit position**
Requirements
Education: - High school diploma/GED required. HIV/AIDS training.
Experience: - One year of dental assisting experience preferred.
License/Certification: - Current Dental Assisting Registration required. Must have/obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 3 months of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills required. Strong problem-solving, communication and computer skills required. Working knowledge of current dental terminology, equipment and procedures relating to dentistry.
