Summary
Our Corporate Finance team is growing and has a great opportunity available as a FP&A Analyst. The Financial Analyst will deliver timely and accurate reports and analytics for the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) department, supporting the Commercial Strategy Director of FP&A plus Managers of FP&A within the Commercial Strategy, Business Planning, & Sales teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making within the sales and commercial functions. The FP&A Analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze sales performance, evaluate business opportunities, and contribute to the overall financial planning and forecasting processes. The Financial Analyst will report to the FP&A Director of Commercial Strategy and Sales while interacting frequently with FP&A managers and other business partners as needed.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sales Performance Analysis:
- Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, revenue, and profitability.
- Provide detailed insights into sales trends, customer behavior, and product performance, supporting the development of strategies to drive revenue growth.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with the sales and commercial teams to develop accurate and comprehensive sales budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor and report on variances between actual results and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement and adjustment.
Financial Modeling:
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate the financial impact of various sales and marketing initiatives.
- Conduct scenario analysis to assess the potential outcomes of different business strategies and market conditions.
Strategic Support:
- Partner with the commercial strategy team to evaluate market trends, competitive landscape, and industry benchmarks to inform strategic decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to gather relevant data and insights for financial analysis.
- Foster strong relationships with business partners to ensure alignment between financial goals and operational strategies.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and deliver regular financial reports and presentations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner, facilitating understanding among non-financial stakeholders.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated superior college performance (preferably in an analytical field). Our ideal candidate will have:
- 2-4 years of experience within a financial planning and analysis group.
- Working knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
- Display strong analytical aptitude, desire to deal with ambiguity, synthesize complex data and draw business insights.
- Ability to identify patterns from disparate sources and deliver comprehensive analyses.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects.
- A detail-oriented approach -must pay close attention to details and error check own work. Ability to work independently.
- Trustworthy with confidential information. Reliability (attendance and timeliness) important to ensure execution of deliverables.
Experience Preferred
- Customer service mindset and ability to work with internal “clients” around the company.
- Ability to cope with pressure and changing priorities with a focus on delivering results.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills as well as the ability to learn software applications (i.e. SAP and Hyperion Essbase).
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
