Coaction is seeking an experienced actuary to lead its Pricing team within the Actuarial Department. The VP, Head of Actuarial Pricing will serve as a key member of Coaction's Actuarial Team, providing insightful projections of profitability and rate adequacy and managing/developing up-and-coming actuarial talent. As VP, Head of Actuarial Pricing at Coaction, you will draw upon your strong technical actuarial and problem-solving skills to solve our insureds' unique and complex problems.
Responsibilities - Responsible for ensuring overall price adequacy for all lines of business and subverticals
- Responsible for pricing individual accounts/programs
- Responsible for implementation and maintenance of consistent pricing practices across organization
- Perform periodic profitability reviews for all business ensuring appropriate pricing methodologies and procedures are used and results are accurate and timely
- Explain profitability and pricing analyses to Senior Management and business leaders
- Evaluate pricing trends to offer suggestions to continually improve underwriting performance
- Assist with development of rating tools
- Assist with rate filing support
- Build relationships with Underwriting, Operations, Claims, IT, and Finance to integrate pricing practices into daily workflows
Qualifications - 15+ years of property and casualty actuarial experience
- 10+ years of pricing experience covering admitted and non-admitted products, including individual account pricing
- FCAS designation required
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to translate and communicate the results of the actuarial analyses in a manner appropriate for the audience
- Able to direct the work of actuaries in the extraction and organization of data and execution of actuarial analyses
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Embrace new challenges and develop innovative solutions to problems
- Able to manage multiple projects and bring them to conclusion
