Custodial/Housekeeping Supervisor

YMCA of Rapid City

Rapid City, SD | United States

Job description

At the heart of the YMCA of Rapid City's mission lies a commitment to strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join us as the Building Cleanliness Technician Team Lead - a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our YMCA facilities. The minimum age requirements for this role are 18 and up. This is a full-time position, with scheduled hours from Monday to Friday, 5:30 pm to 2:30 am.

In this key position, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Building Cleanliness Technicians (BCTs) under the guidance of the Chief Property Officer. Your role transcends routine janitorial duties, encompassing a range of responsibilities that contribute to the overall well-being of our facilities. Full compliance with YMCA and OSHA safety policies is paramount, and you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our spaces are not only clean but also safe for all members of our community.

Reporting directly to the Chief Property Officer, you will be the driving force behind the efficient and effective maintenance of our facilities. Your leadership will be evident as you guide the BCT team in the proper use and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and materials. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in the completion of assigned projects, ensuring that the Chief Property Officer is satisfied with the results and that documentation is maintained accurately.

Beyond the day-to-day custodial tasks, you will take on the responsibility of creating and maintaining cleaning schedules. Regular facility walks will be conducted under your leadership to identify areas that require attention, and you will delegate tasks to the BCT team accordingly. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence will be evident as you report any building maintenance needs promptly to the Chief Property Officer.

As a leader, you will be at the forefront of training new BCT staff, employing a hands-on approach to ensure that they are well-equipped to contribute to the overall cleanliness and safety of our facilities. Your dedication to fostering positive relationships with volunteers, members, and staff will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment within our YMCA community.

Collaboration is a cornerstone of this role. You will engage in weekly meetings with the Chief Property Officer to discuss challenges, successes, and overall progress. Your insights and feedback will be integral to shaping the trajectory of our building's cleanliness operation. Through these collaborative efforts, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our facilities and reinforce our commitment to community strength.

If you are a determined leader with a passion for community impact and maintaining a welcoming environment, we invite you to apply for this rewarding opportunity. Join us in making a difference and becoming a catalyst for a stronger community.
