Join our Pediatrics Department at the College of Dentistry ! As a research assistant you will be helping with the day-to-day coordination in an infant/toddler clinical research trial. This trial is focuses on caries status, changes in oral health, behaviors conducive to better oral hygiene, dietary habits and more! Travel to WIC sites in Eastern Iowa is required for this position. Responsibilities:

• Enroll subjects and obtain informed consent.

• Schedule and track subjects for data collection.

• Assist with on-site date collection at WIC clinics, including questionnaire administration and dental exams.

• Manage data entry into the research database (REDCapTM and TEAMS) and assist with randomization of data.

• Contribute to the development of operating procedures and protocols.

• Oversee subject progress tracking and implement strategies for improvement.

• Coordinate supplies/equipment needs for on-site clinic visits.

Research Assistant – PRK1 (Specified Term)

College of Dentistry – Pediatric Dentistry

Salary: $47,770 to commensurate (Pay Grade: 3A)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

This position is onsite outside of required travel.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, social science, or equivalent’ or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Experience creating and/or manipulating spreadsheets (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Google and TEAM’s).

• Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain University Driving Policy standards.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in dental field or clinical research

• Fluency in Spanish

• Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative environment.

• Experience utilizing REDCap or Qualtrics.

• Ability to work with young children and parents.
