Information about the Line of Business

E&S Property includes all risk (including catastrophe) property insurance coverage, for a variety of occupancies focusing on Commercial Real Estate, Education, Habitational, Healthcare, Hospitality, Retail, Public Entity, and Financial Institutions.

Executive Underwriter/AVP/VP - E&S Property Wholesale

Primary Location: Preferably New Jersey/flexible workplace

What YOU will do:

In this position you will be responsible for actively managing a renewal book of shared and layered property accounts. In addition you will be responsible for seeking out new business opportunities that fit within C&F’s rules and guidelines. You will manage a portfolio of property accounts which includes negotiating terms, reviewing manuscript policy forms and maintaining Company records. In addition, you will service customer needs in a timely manner per Company guidelines. Demonstrate technical underwriting skills for risk selection, exposure evaluation and pricing tools while operating within C&F guidelines to achieve an underwriting profit. Prepare accounts for modeling using RMS tools. Prepare referrals per the Company guidelines. Prepare quotes, binders and policies per the Company guidelines. Responsible for achieving renewal and loss ratio goals as assigned. Keep abreast of market trends, competition and products.

What YOU will bring to C&F:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience underwriting large mono-line property accounts.
• Manuscript, Company and ISO property form experience.
• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to influence others.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid customer service and relationship building skills.
• A proven team player with a drive to succeed.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• College degree (B.S. or B.A.).
