Job description
El Concilio California is searching to fulfill the position of a Medi-Cal Navigator within our Modesto office. This position will focus on providing outreach and enrollment services to individuals in Stanislaus County jail and to those who are scheduled for release. Job duties will include explaining the Med-Cal and/or Covered California programs and assist targeted populations with completing applications. The Medi-Cal Navigator will become familiar with the BenefitsCal.com or Covered California electronic systems. The Medi-Cal Navigator will assist Certified Medi-Cal Outreach Enrollment Specialist with scheduling appointments, and coordinating events on behalf of El Concilio California and the Medi-Cal Outreach Enrollment Program (M.O.E). The Medi-Cal Navigator will become familiar with any outside resources and maintain professional relationship with government, and state agencies, such as the Sheriff's Department. The Medi-Cal Navigator will perform various clerical task, and create informational documents such as flyer, brochures and pamphlets for the benefit of the M.O.E Program.
Employment Type: Full-Time; Non-exempt
Requirements: Background Check, Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation, Language - Bilingual in Spanish is hihgly preferred.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's in Criminal Justice or related field with 1-3 years of experience in a related capacity; An Associates degree in Criminal Justice or related field with 2-4 years of experience working at-risk populations; A high school diploma or GED equivalency with 3-5 years of experience in related field is required in lieu of a degree.
